Mexican police said the clash took place in the village of Texcaltitlan, about 130 kilometers southwest of the capital Mexico City. Police said eight of the dead were members of a criminal gang, while three were residents of the village.

= Eleven people were killed Friday in clashes between people from a small farming community in central Mexico and gunmen from a criminal gang. In the video available on social media, villagers are seen chasing the gang members with rifles and in the meantime sounds of gunfire are heard.
