2023, the year of 5G in emerging countries

Focus on “emerging” countries! Five years after the very first deployments in South Korea And in the USA, 5G is now spreading to the rest of the world. “In 2023, 5G will be launched in around thirty new markets, especially in Africa and Asia”, underlines the GSMA, the global association of telecom operators, in a recent study. Enough to make the new mobile generation a “true global trend”, rejoices the organization.
In January, 87 countries already had a 5G service marketed by one of the 229 operators to operate this technology. Asia, the United States then Europe (including France since the end of 2020) were among the first continents covered. The technology will now experience a “second wave”, with the arrival of 5G in Ethiopia, Ghana, Senegal and even Morocco…
