“2024, year of the rebound of zemmourism?”

COUNTERPOINT – While the major maneuvers of the recomposition of the political camps will begin from the start of the 2024 school year, the president of Reconquête! wants to weigh in to force the other presidential candidates to reckon with him.

Éric Zemmour, in the presidential election, did not kill Marine Le Pen. But the post-presidential period did not kill Zemmourism. More than a year later, the polls relating to the European elections or anticipating 2027 still credit him with a score of around 7%. Left behind from the first round, without any deputy, while the year was essentially parliamentary, and with infinitely less media exposure than it was during the presidential election, he could have disappeared; on the contrary, it preserved its capital. But capital for what?

By dubbing now Marion Marshal as head of the European list, the former candidate for the Élysée makes a choice of calendar and a choice of personality. By unveiling his plan nine months before the election, he makes it a tool for a rebound. Its electorate is one of the most motivated, whereas these elections traditionally mobilize little.
