Only LFI and the RN would have been excluded from this “transpartisan” approach consisting of symbolically sponsoring a hostage. EELV and the PCF would not have wished to participate in the operation initiated by two Macronists.
A symbolic action. Concomitantly with the announcement of a release agreement of the first 50 hostages by Hamas, notably women and children, some 260 French parliamentarians participated on Wednesday in the launch of operation “1 hostage, 1 parliamentarian”. Each with a photo of a captive held by the terrorist organization, they met at midday in front of the three chambers concerned: National embly, Senate and European Parliament.
From now on, participating elected officials will regularly publish photos of the hostages on social networks until their release. Objective of the approach: “Fight against oblivion and humanize hostages», explains Mathieu Lefèvre. Renaissance President of the France-Israel friendship group at the Palais Bourbon, the Val-de-Marne MP is at the origin of this initiative, with his Macronist colleague Caroline Yadan.
If the operation is intended to be “transpartisan”, the elected representatives of the National Rally and La France Insoumise were however voluntarily excluded. As for their ecologists (EELV) and communist (PCF) colleagues, they would not have responded to the invitation extended to them by the organizers.
