According to Nepal’s ‘National Seismological Centre’, an earthquake measuring 4.5 on the Richter scale was recorded at around 4.06 am in Bazhang district, 450 km west of Kathmandu.

The tremors were also felt in the districts around Bajhang in western Nepal, officials said.

There was no immediate report of any casualty or damage to property in the quake, he said. Earthquakes are frequent in mountainous Nepal. In April, there were two earthquakes of magnitude 5.2 and 4.1. Nepal was hit by a devastating 7.8 magnitude earthquake in April 2015, killing nearly 9,000 people and injuring nearly 22,000 others.
