As part of a plan to increase revenue for players playing on the circuit, Challenger Tour prize money will increase by 60% in 2023 compared to 2022, the ATP Tour announced on Friday.
For the 2023 season, the total amount of Challenger Tour prize money will increase to $21.1 million, up from $13.2 million in 2022 (same amounts in euros). Next year's calendar will also include 12 additional events (currently 183).
“The Challenger Tour is the launch pad for men's professional tennis. Today's announcement is a critical milestone for the entire ecosystem”said Andrea Gaudenzi, president of the ATP.
