THE SPORT SCAN – The match between HJK Helsinki and Aberdeen (2-2) was suspended on Thursday due to snowballs thrown at the Finnish goalkeeper.
We were familiar with the throwing of bottles, smoke bombs, batteries and even mobile phones in football stadiums by unconscious supporters. Spectators of the meeting between HJK Helsinki and Aberdeen (2-2), Europa Conference League match on Thursday have just added a variation: the snowball.
Probably less dangerous than the objects which end up on the lawns, the snowballs prepared by a few supporters while the snow was falling in large flakes, forcing the snowplows to come into action, forced the referees to interrupt the debates for a few minutes.
A journalist on site published the video of Scottish fans in action targeting the Finnish goalkeeper in the 52nd minute of play. The Finnish fans responded with more snowballs aimed at the visiting team. The referee let the jokers know that the game could be abandoned if the jets continued. The match was finally able to come to an end with around fifteen minutes of stoppage time.
