A good weight for Kevin Mayer in Miramas

Kevin Mayer continues his à la carte winter preparation. Friday evening, the slicker was at the Miramas meeting, with a weight, pole vault and then a 60m competition on the program. In the afternoon, in the opening, he sent the machine weighing 7.260 kg to 16.08 m on his last attempt, a very satisfactory performance the victory of the young Stephen Mailagi (21 years old) with 18.59 m.
The machine seized up a little on the pole, where the decathlon world record holder failed to cross his first bar, at 5.02 m. The competition was won by Chinese Yao Jie with 5.62m. Valentin Lavillenie took 3rd place with 5.42m.
Mayer then did not compete in the heats of the 60 m. His next outing is scheduled for the Paris indoor meeting on February 11, in the 60m hurdles.
