A year after his retirement, Amara Sy has replayed with Cergy-Pontoise (NM1), a club of which he is president


Ten months after his last professional match, an 81-65 victory on the Boulogne-Levallois floor with Paris Basketball, which had endorsed maintenance in Betclic Elite of the capital club, Amara Sy came out of retirement on Friday. The interior played with the Spartans of Cergy-Pontoise – club of which he is president – against Pole France (60-54)as part of the first day of the second phase of the National Championship 1, group C, the maintenance hen.
At 41, No. 95 on the back, Sy returned a complete statistics sheet: 10 points, 8 rebounds, 1 assist, 2 blocks and 5 fouls (14 evaluation in 26 minutes). To stay in NM1, Cergy-Pontoise will have to finish in one of the first three places from group C. A group which consists in particular of the promoted Hyères-Toulon of the president Vincent MasingueSy’s former teammate at Asvel between 2005 and 2007.
