Althéa Laurin eliminated in the quarter-finals of the Worlds

The day had however started well on Saturday for Althéa Laurin, seeded in the table in – 73 kg during these Worlds in Guadalajara (Mexico). The European champion in the category and bronze medalist at the Tokyo Olympics (+ 67 kg) had mastered the Haitian Aliyah Shipman (2-0) in the 16th round, then the Curacian Reshmie Oogink (2-0) in the 8th of final.

But in the quarter-finals, against the reigning world champion, South Korean Da bin Lee, the task was more difficult. And without regaining his dynamism of the first fights, Laurin suffered the rather clear superiority of his opponent, winner in two rounds (2-0).

The French team, still without a medal after this sixth day of competition, still has two cards to play this Sunday, with Dalya Rehani (-46 kg) and especially Cyrian Ravet (-58 kg), triple European champion.
