DECRYPTION – A text aimed at the establishment of casinos in municipalities with an equestrian heritage was adopted in the Senate, which revives the debate on the regulation of gaming establishments.
The news has not gone unnoticed among players of slot machines and other games of chance. On Tuesday, the Senate adopted at first reading a bill by elected Les Républicains (LR) aimed at allowing the establishment of casinos in towns with a historical equestrian activity, in particular Saumur and Arnac-Pompadour. While the initial text more specifically targeted these two communes of Maine-et-Loire and Corrèze, its scope was extended in committee to the communes hosting one of the 13 national stud farms (Saint-Lô, Lamballe, du Pin, d’ Hennebont, Lion d’Angers…). During the examination of the text, the senators also adopted an amendment allowing the opening of an establishment by border departmentin a town clified as a tourist town.
