For the second round of the presidential election, voting has started at the overseas representatives and customs gates.

A total of 12 ballot boxes were placed in the two areas designated on the arrivals and departures floors at the international terminal of Istanbul Airport, which is Turkey’s largest border gate.
Before voting, ballot box committee members took the oath. After the oath, the ballot box committee members counted the envelopes and ballot papers.
Overseas voters cast their votes by presenting their pports and IDs as of 08:00. Foreign voters will be able to vote at the customs gates, especially at Istanbul Airport, until 17.00 on Sunday, May 28.
Voting at overseas representations will be completed on Wednesday, May 24. The votes cast will be brought to Istanbul Airport by Turkish Airlines’ scheduled planes, accompanied by diplomatic couriers.
Votes will be stored in the room with 7 locked doors. The votes collected here will then be sent to Ankara by road.
On the other hand, according to the statement made by the Supreme Election Board, 3 million 423 thousand 759 registered foreign voters will be able to vote at the border gates and foreign representative offices. More than 18 thousand voters cast their votes in the first round of the Presidential election at Istanbul Airport.
USA AND CANADA
Voting begins in the USA and Canada for the Presidential election in Turkey, which has reached the second round.
In line with the official decision of the Supreme Election Board (YSK), citizens registered as foreign voters will be able to vote in the ballot boxes to be established in the US emby in the capital Washington and the consulates general in New York, Boston, Miami, Houston, Chicago and Los Angeles.
If we take place between 20-24 May, the ballot boxes will remain open between 08:00 and 22:00 local time for voting.
In addition, as in the first round elections, citizens will be able to vote between 09:00 and 21:00 local time on May 20-21 at additional ballot boxes to be opened in the Long Island and South Jersey regions of the New York Consulate General.
Across Canada, the Presidential 2nd Round Election will begin at 8:00 am local time.
Turkish citizens living in Canada will be able to vote at the Turkish Emby in the capital Ottawa and the Turkish Consulates General in Toronto, Montreal and Vancouver.
Voting, which will take place at the four diplomatic missions in Canada, will end at 22:00 local time on May 24.
For the Presidential and 28th Term Parliamentary Elections held in Turkey on May 14, Turkish citizens in the USA and Canada voted in the ballot boxes that were open between 09:00 and 21:00 on 29 April-7 May.
This year, for the first time in the USA, additional polling stations were created in the New York Consulate’s duty area, in New Jersey and Long Island, where Turks live intensely, apart from the Turkevi building. With the additional polling stations opened in the said places on April 29 and May 1, voting of citizens in remote regions was facilitated.
According to YSK data, there are 134,246 registered voters in the USA. In the first round of elections, 53 thousand 40 voters cast their ballots in the polls across the USA. (AA-DHA)
