Humanity needs a new world order, as the model that emerged in the aftermath of World War II is beginning to become obsolete, US President Joe Biden said at a pre-election reception at the White House. The transcript of the speech is provided by the press service of the American administration.
“I think we have the opportunity to get things done if we work boldly and confidently enough to bring the world together in a way that has never been done before. We were in the post-war period for 50 years, which worked very well, but this [модель] as if it had outlived its usefulness. As if she had outlived her usefulness. We need a new world order in the same sense as [та система] was the world order,” Biden said.
He also added that the United States, in the current geopolitical situation, has a “real chance to unite the world” in order to recreate a situation that has not existed for a long time.
Russian President Vladimir Putin previously spoke about the transformation of the world order. According to him, the unipolar hegemony of the United States in the world is inexorably collapsing, while at the same time a more equitable world order is being formed. He noted that the West “categorically does not want to put up with” the new reality. “We see everything that follows from this,” Putin emphasized at a meeting with the heads of intelligence services of the CIS countries last year.
On October 5, at the plenary session of the anniversary, XX annual meeting of the Valdai International Discussion Club in Sochi, Putin supported the movement towards fair multipolarity. “We are faced with the task of essentially building a new world. At such defining stages, the role and responsibility of people like you, dear colleagues, intellectuals, is extremely great,” Putin said.
The head of the Russian state added that the United States and its satellites had long ago set a course for hegemony, but Russia understood from the very beginning that such attempts were doomed to failure. “The world is too complex and diverse to be subordinated to one scheme, even if behind it lies the power, the enormous power of the West, accumulated over centuries of colonial policy,” the president noted.
