Biden: The Republican Party is in an important transition period

US President Joe Biden, pointing to the different views within the Republican Party, said the party is in “an important transition period”.

Speaking to the Daily Show, Biden touched upon the climate crisis and Republican Party policies.
Reminding that he is a candidate for the presidency in the 2020 elections to restore the spirit of the nation, strengthen the middle class and unite the country, Biden noted that since becoming president, they have done many things that are considered “undoable” such as infrastructure law, environmental regulations and approval of same-sex marriage.
Biden underlined the importance he attaches to the younger generation, stating that they are also involved in many legislative activities approved by both parties. Biden also touched upon the work he has done within the scope of the climate crisis to save the future of youth, and pointed out that if no action is taken in this regard, bad consequences may arise for future generations.
Emphasizing that the climate crisis is “a real problem”, Biden also noted that they will need fossil fuels for at least 10 more years.

Biden also said that the energy issue has become more complicated due to the Russia-Ukraine war. President Biden stated that he had previously stated that there will be no more drilling in large parts of the oceans. On the other hand, Biden noted that this is a transitional period and stressed that the fuel situation will not be settled all at once.
Biden stated that as many as one-third of the Republicans in Congress are especially those who are supporters of former President Donald Trump and are described as “MAGA Republicans”, referring to the first letters of the slogan “Make America Great Again”.
On the other hand, Biden said that some Republicans agree with him, but that they will be targeted within the party if they make it public, adding that the Republican Party is in “an important transition period”.
