Sonia Bompastor and her assistant Camille Abily will remain OL women’s coaches until at least 2025.

Women’s Olympique Lyonnais coach Sonia Bompastor and his assistant Camille Abily have extended their contract for two years, until June 2025, the French and European champion club announced on Thursday.

Ex-captain of the Rhone team (171 matches, 36 goals), Bompastor (42), the first woman to win the Champions League as a player and then as a coach, has been leading the OL women’s professional team since April 2021; when she took over from Jean-Luc Vasseur, sacked.

Camille Abily (38), also a former OL player (326 matches, 209 goals), has been coaching OL Women since 2019.

Lyon, leader of the French championship, is still in the running for a hat-trick. The club receives FC Fleury on Friday in the semi-final of the Coupe de France (5:30 p.m.), then will play Wednesday in the quarter-final first leg of the C1 against Chelsea.
