Following the undecided results, after the Presidential Candidate of the People’s Alliance and AKP Chairman Recep Tayyip Erdoğan was re-elected as President, AKP members celebrated with horns, fireworks and occasionally shooting bullets in many parts of the country.
In Hatay, more than one bullet hit the apartment building where CHP Dörtyol Municipality Council members Emre Arık and Hüseyin Bağ were residing at around 21.00.

CHP’s Arık said, “As a result of this treacherous attack, my neighbor Emine Kendir was shot in the foot.”

Stating that 8 empty cartridge cases were collected during the crime scene investigation, Arık said, “It is among the information that the attack was carried out from inside a white, SUV-style vehicle with 3-4 people inside, and that there are AKP flags on the vehicle.”
“OUR ATTACK WAS SITTING ON THE BALCONY”
Stating that Bag from CHP lived in the apartment with him, Arık said, “This attack on the apartment where two CHP council members live during the election celebration is not a coincidence. It happened when Hüseyin Bey’s family and my family were sitting on the balcony while I was working as the CHP Election Coordination at the district election board at the time of the attack,” he said.

“It is obvious that this attack was done on my neighbor Hüseyin or me on purpose,” said Arık, adding, “The possibility that this treacherous attack was an ordinary gunshot is also frightening. It does not fit the mind and logic to shoot with a gun in the center of the bazaar, disregarding the lives of people.”
