Celine Dion’s Sister ‘Fingers Crossed’ for Singer Battling ‘Stiff Man Disease’

In a recent interview with Hello! CanadaClaudette Dion said that her sister is “doing everything to recover”, while continuing to “cross her fingers that researchers find a cure for this terrible disease”.

In December 2022, Celine Dion revealed that she had been diagnosed with a rare neurological condition known as Stiff-Person disease. “Although we are still learning about this rare disease, we now know that it is what caused all the spasms I had,” she said in a moving video shared on Instagram.

After the diagnosis, Dion initially canceled the dates of her “Courage World Tour” tour in Europe and the United Kingdom. In May, she confirmed that all his tour dates were canceled until 2024.

“There is not much we can do to ease his pain”

Stiff-man syndrome is a rare, progressive neurological condition that most commonly causes muscle stiffness and painful spasms in the torso, arms, and legs.

“It’s a disease that we know very little about,” Claudette explained of her sister’s symptoms. “There are spasms – they are impossible to control. You know, people often get up at night because of a cramp in the leg or the calf? It’s a bit the same thing, but in all the muscles, ”she detailed about her sister’s ordeal. “There’s not much we can do to support her, to ease her pain,” the Dion family member said bitterly.
