The proposal resurfaced at the time of the announcement of the ban on wearing the abaya at school. Éric Ciotti affirms it this Sunday in the JDD: he wishes to experiment the wearing of uniform in the colleges of his Alpes-Maritimes department.
While Gabriel Attal said he was in favor of such experiments at the end of July “if the educational community of an establishment” requests it, the boss of LR pleads for him to “move quickly” and “generalize the return of the uniform “.
“We want to launch an experiment in this direction, in the colleges of the Alpes-Maritimes, in agreement with the president of the departmental council”, indicates the deputy of this department, affirming to have “raised this candidacy with Gabriel Attal”.
Éric Ciotti thus joins the request of the mayor (RN) of Perpignan Louis Aliot, who proposed Thursday the establishment of a uniform outfit in the schools of the city, and that of the mayor of Béziers Robert Ménard, who had expressed at the beginning August his wish to experiment with wearing a uniform in his municipality.
“Going further by protecting the school outside the walls”
In this interview with the JDD, the president of the Republicans delivers in ping a satisfaction to the recent decision ofban the abaya in schoolsa long garment considered by the government as an ostentatious religious sign and therefore contrary to the law.
“But I believe that we must go further by protecting the school outside the walls: we must prohibit the wearing of religious symbols for the parents of accompanying students during school outings”, he pleads, taking up a recurring proposal of his political family.
On the eve of the start of the school year, Éric Ciotti is also campaigning to “restore the law of 2009” (ped in 2010, applied until 2013) which he had initiated “allowing the abolition of family allowances for resigning parents and better support for parents in difficulty through a parental responsibility contract”.
Calling to “rehabilitate diplomas and grades”, Mr. Ciotti also asks to make obtaining the patent of colleges “a compulsory page to p in second”.
“Similarly, we cannot tolerate that some children arrive at college barely knowing how to read. Let’s restore an end of primary school exam as a gateway to 6th grade, ”he pleads.
