The Pakistani army carried out an operation against militants in the Chitral region of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province, near the Afghan border.
According to the statement made by the Pakistani army, 7 militants were neutralized in the operation and 6 were seriously injured.
In the statement, it was stated that the operation was organized to eliminate the terrorist threat in the region.
The Pakistani army neutralized the militants who attacked two military outposts in the Chitral region near the Afghanistan-Pakistan border on September 6.

According to data from the Pakistan Institute of Conflict and Security Studies, terrorist attacks increased by 79 percent in the first 6 months of this year compared to the same period in 2022.
389 people lost their lives in 271 terrorist attacks during this period. In the first 6 months of 2022, 151 terrorist attacks took place and 293 people lost their lives.
Terrorist attacks have increased in the country in recent months, especially in the provinces of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and Baluchistan.

Islamabad argues that these attacks were planned and directed by the Pakistani Taliban (TTP) based in Afghanistan. Afghanistan rejects these allegations.
