Corinne Deacon excluded from the selection of the France team

Since a mission was entrusted to a small group (Lyon president Jean-Michel Aulas, Marc Keller, his counterpart from Strasbourg, Aline Riera and Laura Georges), we suspected that the fate of Corinne Deacon was sealed. This is now the case: according to our information, the comex of the FFF recommended, this Thursday morning, without surprise to Philippe Diallo, the president of the FFF, to separate from the coach of the French women’s team challenged by several players – Wendie Renard, Marie-Antoinette Katoto and Kadidiatou Diani announced that they would boycott the Blues as long as the coach remains in office.

In the maneuver, Jean-Michel Aulas had made great progress on this file and had announced in our columns, on February 28, “a situation of no return” between Deacon and the Blues. We will now have to pay his allowances to Deacon, who receives, according to our information, around 400,000 euros annually.

She had been kept in position at arm’s length by Noël Le Graët, the president resigned from the FFF, which extended it, in August 2022, until August 2024, without consulting anyone. The situation has become untenable for Deacon, strongly contested by his group, which did not obtain the title expected by its leaders and whose image is not good.

A working group must be formed to choose a successor to the current coach.
