In a few lines published on Instagram, Afida Turner paid tribute to ‘Queen of Rock ‘n’ Roll’ Tina Turner died Wednesday at the age of 83. “I was just talking about you five minutes before arriving in Nice (…) You loved the south of France so much,” added the former reality TV candidate. Whether the sulphurous artist is intimately linked to her mother-in-law, she will not be the only one to claim her inheritance.
Tina Turner had four children, two of them natural. Her first child, Craig Turner, was born in 1958 from the affair between the singer and the saxophonist of the group Kings of Rhythm Raymond Hill. Tina Turner also gave birth to Ronnie with her singer husband Ike Turner in 1960. Swiss-naturalized American artist had then officially adopted, after her marriage to Ike Turner, the two sons that her husband had had from a previous relationship with Lorraine Taylor, Ike Jr and Michael.
“None of my brothers talk to him”
In 1978, after years of domestic violence, she divorced Ike Turner. Tina Turner, real name Anna Mae Bullock, therefore finds himself with four children to raise. His first, Craig, who became a real estate agent, committed suicide in 2018 with a gun. His second, Ronnie, died of colon cancer in 2022, after living together for seventeen years with Afida Turner. Ike Jr and Michael are still alive but very distant with their adoptive mother.
“I haven’t spoken to my mum in God knows when – probably in the 2000s. I don’t think any of my brothers have spoken to her in a long time either. My mother is living her life – she has a new husband (Erwin Bach) and she is in Europe. She wants nothing to do with the past,” her adopted son Ike Junior, whose father Ike Turner died of a cocaine overdose in 2007, told the Daily Mail.
With no more natural children alive, and two adopted sons of whom the singer had no further news, the painful question of inheritance now arises. In 2022, in an interview with Jordan De Luxe, Afida Turner claimed that her husband Ronnie was “the first heir”. When asked if she had become the main heiress after the latter’s death, the sulphurous artist had slightly agreed, adding that she was “not there to take someone else’s dough”.
