The price of regulated electricity tariffs will not increase by more than 10% over the year 2024, declared Friday on Europe 1 the Minister of Energy Transition Agnès Pannier-Runacher. Highlighting the establishment in the fall of 2021 of an energy shield, the minister recalled in the preamble that the State was currently still covering “37% of the French’s electricity bill”, despite the gradual withdrawal of this measure.
“For 2024, indeed, we will gradually withdraw this energy shield, but Bruno Le Maire said it well, the price of electricity will not increase by more than 10% (…) on February 1 and overall of the year 2024,” declared Minister Pannier-Runacher on CNews-Europe 1, recalling that “the French pay one of the lowest electricity prices in Europe.” The president of the Energy Regulatory Commission, Emmanuelle Wargon, had caused a stir on Thursday by communicating forecasts of an increase electricity prices for 2024, ranging from 10 to 20%.

Hérault and Gard seem to be the most exposed to heavy rain as the forecasts currently stand.
