Energy efficiency program replaces light bulbs in public areas of cities in Rio Grande do Sul

In 12 cities in Rio Grande do Sul, the E+ City Lights project will replace 14,800 public lighting bulbs with LED ones. More efficient, the new light bulbs will represent a total of 7.1 GWh, equivalent to the consumption of 2,200 homes per month. This is the Equatorial Group’s Energy Efficiency Program regulated by the National Electric Energy Agency (Aneel). The information was supplied by Equatorial’s press office.
The next municipality that will receive the action is Piratini, in the campaign region, where 452 sodium vapor and mixed light fixtures and 10 inefficient projectors will be replaced by LED technology lighting units. In Tramandaí and Lavras do Sul the exchange has already been completed. Pinheiro Machado, Charqueadas, Três Cachoeiras, Morrinhos do Sul, Xangri-Lá, Santo Antônio da Patrulha, Mostardas, Rio Grande and Caraá are also part of the list. In all, the estimate is to reach R$ 12 million in investments.
