Jinping called for maintaining the leadership of the ruling Communist Party of China headed by him. He was speaking at the conclusion of the annual session of the National People’s Congress, the Chinese legislature.

Saudi Arabia and Iran agreement

China has recently signaled its intention to play a greater role in global affairs by hosting talks between Saudi Arabia and Iran. Iran and Saudi Arabia have agreed to restore diplomatic ties and reopen embassies after seven years of tensions.
