“Are you in the best shape of your career?
Form, I don't know, but level of confidence, yes it is. I managed to have an environment to flourish. The new coach (Regis Le Bris) showed me directly that he gave me a lot of importance, I needed it. It is above all the confidence that makes me fit. I am fulfilled.
Are you surprised by your current level of performance?
In all modesty, I knew it. I feel that I am not at the top of what I can do, I have ambitions. I can be more decisive, more “impactful” for my team.
How can you still improve?
In consistency, from the 1st to the 90th minute. I can also become an even more decisive player. If I want to go to the highest level, I have to pass that course.
“The Bris? He is the most passionate coach I have seen in my young career. He watches our matches 6-7 times, he edits us individually, I don't think every coach does that."
The arrival of the new coach has changed your decision to leave FC Lorient. Why ?
At the end of last season, I really wanted to change my environment. The arrival of the new coach changed everything, I already knew him (in training). He breathes football, I needed that. It's a choice on my part. I felt that I could flourish more in Lorient.
Régis Le Bris, in discussion with Enzo Le Fée during the preseason. (B. Le Bars/The Team)
How is it different?
What impressed me the most was that he was patient. He gave us time in preseason. When he explained something, he detailed why we were doing it. In terms of understanding, he was top notch. This is what made everyone adhere to his project. There, it works for us. He is the most passionate coach I have seen in my young career. He watches our matches 6-7 times, he edits us individually, I don't think every coach does that. When you see the coach so invested, you want to respect his work. Where it is also strong is that it manages to concern everyone.
Is that enough to make you want to extend (his contract runs until 2024)?
It is not he who will convince me to extend, I want to extend in Lorient. I just have to concentrate on the field. It's under discussionwe'll see what happens.
