Exhibition brings together 45 works by Pedro Weingärtner


The exhibition Pedro Weingärtner – 170 Years – No Campo dos Olhos, curated by José Francisco Alves and Marco Aurélio Biermann Pinto, opened to guests last week. Nilson Luiz May spoke on behalf of the Casa da Memória of the Unimed Federation RS, highlighting the importance of the painter, engraver and draftsman, son of German immigrants. The exhibition of 45 works, most of which have never been seen before by the public, presents drawings, paintings, books about the artist, catalogues, documents and photos, which portray the work of the painter from Rio Grande do Sul who dedicated himself to images of the daily life of his time and portrayed the landscapes of Pampa. The exhibition will remain open to the public until January 26, 2024, at the Casa da Memória of Unimed Federação RS.

The book Moda Alegre, launched on Tuesday this week, at Theatro São Pedro, presents the testimony of 20 women from needy communities in Porto Alegre who, through sewing ventures, gave a new direction to their lives and were inserted in the business market. The initiative is part of the Coletânea Empreendedoras de Alta Performance project, from Editora Leader and was coordinated by Tainá Vidal, who organized the fashion show in which the clothes they produced were presented to the public in the Foyer Nobre of Theatro São Pedro.

Based on a libretto by Simões Lopes Neto and José Gomes Mendes, with music by Manuel Acosta y Olivera, Casa da Ospa, brought back to the stage after 18 years, the comedy-operetta Os Bacharéis, in a joint production with Companhia de Ópera do RS (CORS), last Saturday. Conducted and musically directed by maestro Evandro Matté and scenic direction by Marcelo Ádams, the show was a real pleasure for the audience, who identified with the typically Gaucho expressions included in the production. The premiere in Porto Alegre preceded the presentation in Pelotas for a session at the Sicredi Auditorium, this Friday, September 8th, in honor of the 150th anniversary of the Pelotas Commercial ociation.

The pioneering spirit and longevity of Confraria Bon Gourmet, founded in 1976 by a group of businessmen, were welcomed this week, at Pâtissier Marcelo Gonçalves, during a festive dinner. The first male gastronomic fraternity in Brazil celebrated its 47th anniversary, with some of its enthusiastic founders, Gilberto Cabeda, Carlos Alberto Pippi da Motta, Flávio Del Mese, Paulo Holtermann and journalist Paulo Gasparotto present. The group’s signature book also contains the name of the legendary journalist Gilda Marinho, the only woman among the founders. The festive night had a sequence of dishes designed by Mário Espíndola, Newton Kalil and Marcelo Gonçalves.
