Fiergs proposes the creation of an Emergency Economic Recovery Program in RS


The Federation of Industries of the State of Rio Grande do Sul (Fiergs) sent this Monday (11) to the Secretary of Economic Development, Ernani Polo, suggestions for creating an Emergency Economic Recovery Program. The objective of the initiative is to productive recovery in the regions most affected by floods in Rio Grande do Sul last week, which destroyed cities, left more than 40 deaths and left thousands homeless.
The Fiergs document, signed by the president of Fiergs, Gilberto Porcello Petry, proposes three main actions:

Coordination with Badesul, BRDE, Banrisul, Caixa and Banco do Brasil, together with BNDESaiming to establish a fund of financing lines so that industries and companies of all activities can invest in the fastest return to economic activities while preserving local jobs;

Creation of a special line of credit for the payment of salaries and proposal to the federal government to suspend the collection of labor charges;

Suspension of ICMS payment and provision of installments to pay off the tax.

The document sent to Polo, which meets this Monday afternoon with leaders from the most affected areas, ends by highlighting that the Fiergs System is also engaged in effective actions with communities.
