Flu, Covid-19, human papillomavirus… the calendar of vaccination campaigns this year


A vaccine to do? No longer need to necessarily go through the doctor’s box, it is now possible to reach out directly to the pharmacist if you are at least 11 years old. The measure, provided for by the Social Security financing law for 2023, is now applicable after the publication of several decrees on August 9, 2023.

Here are the main immunizations recommended and therefore feasible in pharmacies in the coming weeks or years, provided that the professional has followed training in the administration of vaccines.

Flu

From when ? From October 17.

Recommended for whom? People said to be “at risk”, that is to say those aged at least 65, those younger but suffering from a serious illness or having co-morbidities (full list to be found in the 2023 vaccination calendar), pregnant women, but also caregivers, in particular.

Covid-19

From when ? From October 17, in conjunction with the flu vaccination (unless the date is brought forwardas envisaged by the Minister of Health, Aurélien Rousseau, depending on the epidemic situation).

Recommended for whom? The same people “at risk” as those targeted by the flu vaccination.

Human papillomavirus (HPV) infections

From when ? Anytime during the year, from October 2 in colleges.

Recommended for whom? All adolescents aged between 11 and 14 (hence the fact that a vaccination campaign is directly organized at the school), but also for men having sex with men until the age of 26.

Diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis (DTP)

From when ? Any time of the year.

Recommended for whom? A booster is recommended between 11 and 13 years old, at 25 years old, 45 years old, 65 years old, 75 years old, 85 years old, etc. The interval increases to ten years due to a more rapid decline in vaccine effectiveness.

whooping cough

From when ? Any time of the year.

Recommended for whom? Reminder at 25 years old with that against diphtheria, tetanus, poliomyelitis, catch-up possible up to 39 years old.
