VIDEO – A first trailer for this sequel, scheduled to hit theaters on December 13, also gives a glimpse of the first images of the siege of La Rochelle.

The last time viewers laid eyes on her in the first part of the epic adaptation of Three musketeers by Martin Bourboulon, Milady, alias Eva Green, was in bad shape. Chased at full speed by D’Artagnan on the English lands of the Duke of Buckingham, the spy in the pay of Richelieu had to give him the missing studs belonging to Anne of Austria and jump off the cliff into the raging waves of the Channel to escape the Gascon.

Their reunion will be just as explosive suggests the trailer for the second part of the French blockbuster, which brings together François Civil, Vincent Cel, Romain Duris and Pio Marmai under the helmet of the musketeers. Titled Milady, this sequel is expected in theaters on December 13. We find Milady all dressed in leather and in men’s clothes tracked by D’Artagnan convinced that she is the one responsible behind the kidnapping of his sweetheart Constance Bonacieux (Lyna Khoudri) . Except that the culprit, replies Milady, would rather be Richelieu. D’Artagnan like Milady seems to be forced to flee. Another sequence brings together Miady and Athos, whom she threatens with a knife to the throat.

The first part will be released in December in cinemas

This trailer also lets us glimpse the first images of the siege of La Rochelle which opposed the Protestants and the armies of Louis XIII. “From the Louvre to Buckingham Palace, from the underbelly of Paris to the siege of La Rochelle… In a Kingdom divided by religious wars and threatened with invasion by England, a handful of men and women will cross their swords and link their destiny to that of France», promises the synopsis of the adaptation of the fresco by Alexandre Dumas.

On the occasion of the theatrical release of Miladythe first part D’Artagnan will return to cinemas from December 6 to 13. Released last April, D’Artagnan brought together more than 3.3 million moviegoers, which placed the film in the top 5 most seen feature films in France. Pathé intends to extend this success to the small screen and is developing two spin-off series projects for Disney +: Milady Originson the spy’s youth, and Black Musketeer, centered on the character of Hannibal, African prince and protégé of Louis XIII. “Weapon master, charismatic, raw, lively and flamboyant, he is an athlete who uses words with panache», specifies the casting announcement which is looking for its performer: “a black or Afro-descendant actor (comedian, rapper, artist) between 20 and 35 years old. Rather tall, with an athletic physique“.
