France wins Junior Eurovision 2023 thanks to Zoé Clauzure and her song against school bullying

France wins the European singing competition for juniors for the third time and for the second year in a row.

Spain, Malta, Ukraine, Ireland, United Kingdom, North Macedonia, Estonia, Armenia, Poland, Georgia, Portugal, France, Albania, Italy, Germany and the Netherlands. Sixteen countries entered the competition this year.

France was represented by Zoe Clauzure. The 13-year-old girl performed Heart. Composed by Julien Comblat and Jérémy Chapro, the title evokes the school harment that the young singer suffered. “This song is a hopeful anthem with a super happy and positive disco pop vibe. It matches my personality”she explained on the show “Basique”.

After last year’s victory of Lissandro, it is once again France which wins. Zoé Clauzure won not only the vote of the juries, but also that of the public. “A popular and professional victory”as commented Stéphane Bern. The young winner received the trophy very moved, which did not prevent her from thanking the voters.

This is France’s third victory at Junior Eurovision and the second in a row. A first in the history of the European competition for juniors.

228 points for France

The juries awarded 136 points to France. Among the countries to have given us the famous twelve points, the Netherlands, Poland, Ireland and Spain. To which are added the points of the public. Part of the score which is calculated by converting the number of votes sent across Europe. France received 92 points, giving a final score of 228 points.

On the second step of the podium, we find Spain with 201 points and on the third step Armenia with 180 points in total.

Presented by Olivier Minne and Laury Thilleman, the competition was broadcast this Sunday, November 26 on France 2. France having won last year, it was in Nice that this new edition of Junior Eurovision took place. Stéphane Bern and singer Carla Lazzari, who participated in the competition in 2019, commented in voice-over.
