The G20 includes the world’s 19 largest economies as well as the European Union. These countries are Argentina, Australia, Brazil, Canada, China, France, Germany, India, Indonesia, Italy, Japan, South Korea, Mexico, Russia, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Turkey, the United Kingdom, and the United States.
The G20 summit has started from September 9 in the country’s capital Delhi. Heads of state of many important countries of the world have arrived for this international event. This is the 18th G20 summit. India is hosting the G20, established in 1999, for the first time. Apart from the countries included in the G20 group, 9 more countries were invited to join on special invitation. These countries include Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain and United Arab Emirates.

According to data released by the Ministry of External Affairs, these countries together account for 85 percent of global GDP, more than 75 percent of global trade and two-thirds of the world’s population. Each year, the G20 Chair invites guest countries other than member countries to participate in G20 meetings and summits. This year, India invited Bangladesh, Egypt, Mauritius, Netherlands, Nigeria, Oman, Singapore, Spain and UAE as guest countries during its G20 presidency.
