Generator scandal: General secretary taken on leave


After the earthquakes in Kahramanmaraş on February 6, it was revealed that Tunceli Special Provincial Administration bought 7 generators from Kızılay to be used in search and rescue activities in Adıyaman, but the generators were not sent to the region. In the investigation initiated by the Governor’s Office, it was learned that Tunceli Special Administration Secretary General Nazif Yıldırım was taken on leave.

After the 6 February Kahramanmaraş-centered earthquakes, one of the biggest needs of the earthquake victims was a generator.

Some branches of Kızılay also started campaigns to meet the generator needs in earthquake zones.

It was revealed that Tunceli Special Provincial Administration kept 7 generators purchased for use in Adıyaman, in their own warehouses, which they did not use in the search and rescue operations in Adıyaman.

According to the internal correspondence made within the institution, the fate of one of the 7 generators taken from Adıyaman is unknown.

THE RECORD IS STORED FOR 6 MONTHS

In the letter sent to the General Secretariat with the signature of Tunceli Special Provincial Administration Support Services Manager Kubilay Odak, the following statements were used, drawing attention to the fact that the generators were kept unregistered for six months:

*One of the tipper trucks registered in our machinery park, which was igned in search and rescue and debris removal works in Adıyaman province, with the vehicle numbered 62 AAE 636, 2 LUTİAN brand generators on 14.02.2023 and the vehicle with license plate number 62 AP 247 and 5 LUTİAN brand generators on 16.02.2023 General It was sent from Adıyaman Province by our secretary and 4 of 5 generators were brought to our institution and 1 of them was not brought to our institution.

*A total of 6 LUTİAN brand generators brought to our institution have been kept in the inventory warehouse of our Institution with the instruction of our Secretary General. Since we do not know why the generators, which have been kept unregistered in the warehouse of our Directorate for about 6 months, have been sent, no action has been taken.

*To whom or to whom the generators, which are tried to be kept unregistered in the fixture warehouse of my directorate, are to be removed from the warehouse and sent by you. I submit what is needed.

THE SECRETARY GENERAL WAS RELEASED DURING THE INVESTIGATION

It has been learned that Tunceli Special Administration Secretary General Nazif Yıldırım, who requested generators for search and rescue efforts, but allegedly kept the generators in the warehouse of the Special Provincial Administration, has been taken on leave while the investigation into the incident continues.
