First to set off on the Black de Levi (Finland) on Saturday morning, for the first women’s race of the season, the German Lena Dürr set the best time in the first run of the slalom (54”48).
The Slovak Petra Vhlova, Olympic champion, holder of the globe of the specialty and the title in Levi, is fourth at 0”57, upgraded after her passage first by the American Mikaela Shiffrin, finally 3rd (+0”55 ) then by Sweden’s Anna Swenn-Larsson, bib 12 (+0”45). Note the performance of Croatian Zrinka Ljutic, 18, 7th 77 hundredths behind Dürr with bib 28, and Sweden’s Hanna Aronsson Eldman, 8th (+1”06) with bib 36.
Nastasia Noens 28th
First of the three French women engaged to face the small stakes, Nastasia Noens is 28th at 2”50 after the passage of the first forty bibs. Chiara Pogneaux, for her first start in the World Cup, at 20, finished 3”13 from the leader and will not appear in the second round. Marie Lamure has bib number 46.
Lena Dürr, third in the slalom globe standings last season, will close the gate during the second run scheduled for 1 p.m. (French time).
