Gianfranco Fini at the trial for the Montecarlo apartment: “Deceived and wounded by the Tullianis”

«The sale of the Montecarlo apartment was the most painful story for me, I was deceived by Giancarlo Tulliani and his sister Elisabetta. Only in December 2010 did I discover that the owner of the house was Tulliani and I broke off relations with him». Thus Gianfranco Fini heard in the courtroom, in Rome, in the money laundering trial which sees him accused together, among others, with his partner Elisabetta, Giancarlo and Sergio Tulliani, respectively partner, brother-in-law and father-in-law of Fini. At the center of the legal case involving the former Speaker of the Chamber is the sale of the house in Montecarlo, bequeathed by Countess Annamaria Colleoni to the National Alliance, which, according to the indictment, was purchased by Giancarlo Tulliani through off-shore companies with the money of the entrepreneur Francesco Corallo, accused of criminal association aimed at embezzlement, money laundering and tax evasion. An operation carried out in 2008, for just over 300 thousand euros and which with the sale of the property in 2015 yielded one million and 360 thousand dollars.
Among the other defendants in the trial there is also the former Forza Italia parliamentarian Amedeo Laboccetta. “Elisabetta’s behavior also hurt me – added Fini – I only found out from the trial documents that she was the co-owner of the apartment and then I also learned that her brother would transfer a part of the proceeds from her sale to her. All facts that I did not know before. Answering questions from the defenders and the prosecutor, the former Speaker of the Chamber added: «I was involved in this process following dozens of false statements made by Amedeo Labocetta out of a well-known political hatred against me. 2010 was the year of my clash with Silvio Berlusconi, the climate had become incandescent and in the eyes of many I was a target to hit», concluded Fini.
