One of the UK’s most famous girl bands is back. More than ten years after their separation announced after a concert in Liverpool in March 2013, Girls Aloud have announced a reunion tour across the United Kingdom and Ireland in May and June 2024.
“We are very excited to announce that we will be touring the UK and Ireland in May and June 2024. A celebration of Sarah (Editor’s note, one of the five singers of the group died of breast cancer in 2021), our music and our incredible fans. We can’t wait to sing and dance with you again,” the group posted on Instagram.
This tour will be provided by the four other singers of the group: Nicola Roberts, Nadine Coyle, Kimberley Walsh and Cheryl Ann Tweedythe star of this girl band better known as Cheryl Cole, named after her former husband Ashley, ex-English international footballer.
A legendary group in the United Kingdom
As reported BFMTVfifteen dates had initially been announced, but “due to unprecedented demand”, six additional dates were announced on Wednesday, bringing the number of concerts to 21. Proof of the great success of this “comeback”, several venues are already filled even before the official sale which was launched this Friday, December 1st.
Formed thanks to the show “Popstars: The Rival” in 2002, the group will begin their tour in Dublin on May 18, 2024 and will end in Liverpool on June 30. Little known in France, Girls Aloud are a true pop institution in the United Kingdom. According to Guinness World Recordsit is the female group which has placed the most singles consecutively in the British top 10 ahead of Spice Girls and Destiny’s Child.
