Grenoble beats Biarritz and finally launches its season

Grenoble, penalized with six points for financial problems before the start of the season, won at home against Biarritz 40-22 on Wednesday at the start of the 4th day of Pro D2 and gave up last place in Mont-de-Marsan which receives Béziers on Thursday.

For the first time this season, Grenoble, finalist against Oyonnax last season, has three points after this second success (for 2 defeats).

The Grenoble residents scored four tries by Geoffrey Cros (20, 79), Sam Davies (24) and Steeve Blanc-Mappaz (54), and the Biarrots three by Kerman Aurrekoetxea (2, 35) and Baptiste Fariscot (8).

Biarritz, beaten for the second time, is provisionally 7th with 8 points.

The leader Provence Rugby will play in Brive (8th) on Thursday and his runner-up Vannes will receive Montauban (3rd) who follows him by three lengths. The first two have three wins after three days.
