Grenoble falls at Mulhouse, Angers wins at Bordeaux in the Magnus League

Angers with forceps: 1-2

Last series whose second match had not taken place, the confrontation between Bordeaux and Angers resulted in a new Angevin victory away (0-1). The third of the regular season, forced to play outside because of the World Junior Synchronized Skating Championships organized on their rink, were more minimalist than in the first game (1-6).

In a choppy match, Angers was content with little before stinging his opponent on a counter-attack. Téo Sarlieve in the pass, Cédric Di Dio Balsamo in the finish to manage a 2 against 1 in the best possible way. Four minutes from time, Bordeaux’s Nikita Jevpalovs equalized to offer extra time to his audience. Unfortunately for him, Nicolas Ritz showered Girondin hopes by allowing the Dukes to lead two sets to zero. The Boxers will now have to travel to Angers on Monday (8:30 p.m.) to hope to reverse the trend.

Mulhouse got scared: 3-2

Eighth in the regular season, Mulhouse welcomed Grenoble, first, after two defeats in Isère. Despite the last slap (1-5), the Mulhousiens started very strong at home. Les Brûleurs de Loup Grenoble conceded goals from Canadian Tyler Welsh in the first period and American Alex Berardinelli in the second.

Outnumbered, they came back to a length through Nicolas Deschamps then equalized, at the very end of the second period, thanks to the inevitable Kyle Hardy. But it was Mulhouse who had the last word thanks to a goal in the third act from Bryan Ten Braak to come back to 2-1 in this series. Enough to relaunch the quarter-final before the fourth match scheduled for Sunday (7:30 p.m.).

Rouen wins a crazy match: 3-4

After Quentin Tomasino’s early opener (3rd minute), Rouen failed to make the break and saw Amiens equalize through Daniel Gibb (7th minute). Same scenario during the second period: Loïc Lampérier gives the advantage to the Dragons of Rouen before Baptiste Bruche scores directly to come back to score.

Then, it was Amiens who scored the next goal, by Danick Bouchard… Before being caught. The goal of Canadian Christophe Boivin allowed Rouen to snatch extra time. This is where the Rouennais won thanks to Rolands Vigners. They extend their lead to three sets to zero in this quarter-final. Fourth game also scheduled for Sunday (6 p.m.).

Cergy-Pontoise takes off: 3-4

William Bower opened hostilities in the sixth minute for the Cergy-Pontoise Jokers, before seeing Gap equalize less than two minutes later by Chad Langlais. After a moment of respite, the Parisians regained the advantage in the second period thanks to their Finnish striker Samuel Salonen, before leading 1-3 with the goal of Aaron Miller.

In the last third, Gap came back to lead his opponent in extra time (goals from Paul Joubert and Aaron Miller). In vain, since it is all the same Cergy-Pontoise which had the last word thanks to an achievement by Antti Kauppila. An advantage now increased to 3-0 before the fourth match scheduled for Sunday (6:30 p.m.).
