The Herbiers are definitely accustomed to exploits in the Coupe de France. Finalists of the 2018 edition (0-2 defeat against PSG), the Vendeans achieved the feat of eliminating Guingamp on Saturday for the 8th round. After standing up to the Ligue 2 resident during regulation time (2-2), the N2 players were more precise than their opponents during the penalty shootout, won 4-3.
Guingamp is thus the second Ligue 2 team eliminated in the 8th round of the Coupe de France after the defeat of Sochaux a little earlier against Thaon (N3), again on penalties (1-3, 2-2 after regulation time). Rodez and Pau, respectively opposed to La Roche-Saint-Genest (R2) and Colomiers (N3), did not shine either but provided the essentials by winning 1-0.
