CHP Kocaeli Provincial President Bülent Sarı, who warned the university administration about the picnic event that will be held by student groups with separate sitting arrangement for men and women in Gebze Technical University, said, “Those who try to show equality of opportunity in education as if we ‘defended’ only on the basis of the students’ dress, dress, and beliefs are under the roof of the university. Making social events with a greeting seating arrangement and allowing it is a mental eclipse.”
“HOW CAN YOU ALLOW SUCH AN ACTIVITY THAT OPENED SEPARATION?”
Saying, “The rectorate’s permission was given to the announcement shared by the two student groups, Yeniler Community and Mobilization Community, with the note ‘Care will be taken to ensure that male and female students sit separately’, this is exactly the product of the mind,” Sarı said;
*To allow students to be segregated in this way is an indication that these young people will carry gender equality into all areas of life in a wrong way.
Many students of the school reached out to us and asked how such an event was allowed. We also ask the management.
*How could you allow such an event that paves the way for segregation when you should be preparing young people for professional business life in a secular, democratic, scientific system?
*Who are the communities organizing this event and who are they guided by? Immediately revoke this permission, immediately remove this divisive mentality from the university.
