The murder occurred on Thursday morning on the public highway when the victim, a police officer, dropped off a child at the crèche in the village of La Croix-de-la-Rochette, near Chambéry, while she was out service. The suspected man, born in 1962 and with whom she had two children, killed her “with a blunt object”according to one of the sources familiar with the matter.
