DECRYPTION – The specialist in children’s equipment, which generates 85% of its sales online, intends to accelerate.

At 60 years old, the former mail order company Vertbaudet continues to renew itself. The specialist in children’s equipment based in Tourcoing (North) moved online in 1997 and today makes 85% of its sales online. However, he is not resting on his laurels. Like Maisons du monde or the Redoubtwhich for a time had the same owner as Vertbaudet, the brand launched an online marketplace last week which will allow it to further expand its offering, and, it hopes, to gain market share.

Vertbaudet today offers 10,000 product references, from clothing to children’s bedroom decoration, including childcare equipment. Ready-to-wear, its original business and a sector with particular competition from second-hand goods, now represents only half of the turnover.
