The actor, who served 33 days in prison for hitting an extra in 1987, was annoyed by Will Smith’s gesture six months after the Oscar controversy.

The controversy died down several months ago, he is coming back to it. 33 days in prison

The 63-year-old actor was convicted for similar acts that occurred more than 30 years ago. In 1987, Sean Penn was sentenced to 33 days in prison for hitting and spitting on an extra during filming.

Will Smith sparked controversy during the last Oscar ceremony. After a joke from presenter Chris Rock about his wife’s shaved head Jada Pinkett Smith, who suffers from alopecia, the actor stood up and slapped him on stage. Several personalities had rebelled, and Will Smith apologized a few days later on Instagram.
