The Rennes goalkeeper is loaned to Côme.

Senegalese international goalkeeper Alfred Gomis, sidelined in Rennes, leaves for Como (2nd Italian division) in the form of a loan without option to buy for the end of the season, announced the two clubs.

Goalkeeper N.1 of Rennes for two seasons, he fell in the hierarchy this summer after the arrival of Steve Mandanda, coach Bruno Genesio reproaching him for not being decisive enough. From now on, when Mandanda is unavailable, it is the young Dogan Alemdar who guards the Rennes goals. Aged 29 and under contract with Rennes until 2025, Alfred Gomis has already spent many years in Italy, between Serie A and Serie B.

After a season in Dijon (2019-2020), he was recruited by Rennes to compensate for the departure of his compatriot Edouard Mendy at Chelsea. He has hardly played this season, with the exception of an appearance in the Rennes reserve team and a start in a friendly match with Senegal against Bolivia in September. He was a substitute during the World Cup in Qatar.
