We estimate this march to have approximately 40,000 participants, said the mayor of Warsaw, Rafał Trzaskowski, on Saturday.

“We estimate this march to have approximately 40,000 participants. I hope that nothing bad will happen in the next few hours,” he emphasized.

He explained that there were several registered emblies in Warsaw, which are separated from each other, so safety is maintained.
He was asked about incidents related to burning the European Union and rainbow flags.
“We brought this to the attention of the police. However, burning these flags, regardless of its meaning, did not pose any major threat to the march participants,” he commented.
He also thanked all the services for securing the march.
