India, Russia review trade ties

The Ministry of External Affairs said in the statement, “The two sides agreed to work together to conduct India-Russia bilateral trade and economic relations to their full potential. In this, it was also agreed to deal with trade deficit and market related issues.

Foreign Minister S. Jaishankar held a virtual meeting with Russian Deputy Prime Minister Denis Manturov on Monday and discussed trade and investment related issues. Manturov is also the Minister of Trade and Industry. Jaishankar and Manturov co-chair the India-Russia Intergovernmental Commission on Trade, Economic, Scientific, Technical and Cultural Cooperation (IRIGC-TEC). The Ministry of External Affairs said in the statement, “The two sides agreed to work together to conduct India-Russia bilateral trade and economic relations to their full potential. In this, it was also agreed to deal with trade deficit and market related issues. Jaishankar and Manturov directed to review the progress of various working groups and sub-groups under the IRIGC-TEC framework in Moscow in November 2022 and lay the groundwork for the next meeting to be held in New Delhi.
