For some travelers particularly affected by strikes against pension reform of these last months to the SNCF, the government will make “a gesture of compensation”, declared this Thursday on France 2 the Minister of Transport Clément Beaune. “It is a very important gesture, an exceptional gesture”, ured the minister and “it will start on Monday, it will be very simple, automatic or online”, he ured.
Not all people who have seen their trains canceled due to the social movement are concerned, Clément Beaune has indeed stressed that the intercity lines were above all targeted.
“It is for example Paris-Toulouse, Paris-Limoges, Paris-Clermont-Ferrand, Bordeaux-Marseille… Because these are lines which are already in difficulty in normal times with problems of punctuality, regularity”, explains- he. But also because they were particularly affected by the strike: “Sometimes it was 9 out of ten trains that were canceled on certain days, so there will be compensation. »
Affected subscribers and frequent flyers
Only travelers who have frequently used these means of transport will be compensated. The Minister thus includes in this gesture people who have a subscription, who “need these trains for daily life and work”. For them “it’s 50% reimburt of the subscription for all the months of January, February, March and April. »
The other travelers concerned are those “who do not necessarily have a subscription but who often take this train for family or professional reasons, all people who have made at least five round trips over this period”. They will receive compensation of 100 euros ured Clément Beaune.
The intersyndicale announced at the beginning of May a new day of “strikes and demonstrations” against the pension reform scheduled for June 6th.
