Investigation opened after racist chants against Vinicius during the Madrid derby

According radio COPE on Friday, the Madrid public prosecutor’s office opened an investigation to identify the Atlético de Madrid supporters who sang racist chants against Vinicius Junior, the Real Madrid striker. Incidents that occurred before the derby, outside the Civitas Metropolitano, then during the match last Sunday in La Liga (1-2).

According to the radio, the prosecution is asking the police in particular to establish whether the “singers” have relations with violent groups. The procedure launched comes after a complaint from the Movement against Intolerance (Movimiento contra la Intolerancia) aimed at the insults uttered before the meeting. Police have already identified three suspects.
