On the fact of the attempt on the life of the acting head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR Igor Kornet in Lugansk, a criminal case was initiated under three articles of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation. This was reported by the press service of the Investigative Committee (IC) of Russia.
The case was opened under Part 3 of Art. 30 p. “a” p. “e” part 2 of Art. 105 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (attempted murder), part 1 of Art. 222.1 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (illegal acquisition of explosives or explosive devices) and art. 317 of the Criminal Code of the Russian Federation (encroachment on the life of a law enforcement officer).
According to investigators, the explosive device went off at 13:50 Moscow time in a beauty salon on Demekhina Street. As a result of the explosion, there are wounded, including Kornet. The victims were taken to the hospital with injuries of varying severity, the UK said.
The investigation has sufficient data to believe that the target of the attackers was the acting head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the LPR, the report says. It is noted that regional investigators have already completed the inspection of the scene and the interrogation of witnesses and eyewitnesses. Now the UK is establishing the circumstances of the incident and the persons involved.
Earlier today, Leonid Pasechnik, Acting Head of the LPR, announced an explosion in the center of Luhansk. Eyewitnesses in a conversation with T noted that the explosion occurred inside the barbershop. According to Pasechnik, seven people were injured. Cornet is in the hospital in serious condition, he said. Retired lieutenant colonel of the People’s Militia of the LPR Andrey Marochko, in his Telegram channel, citing doctors, said that the acting head of the Ministry of Internal Affairs of the republic is alive, his condition is stable.
