Irregularity operation in the tender: 60 suspects caught
In the operation carried out in 5 provinces based in Istanbul, 60 suspects were detained for allegedly making irregularities in the tenders organized by the executive directorates.
The teams of the Department of Fight Against Organized Crime, under the coordination of the Istanbul Chief Public Prosecutor’s Office, started working on the allegations that pressure was exerted on some citizens who wanted to participate in the tenders.
In the examination, it was understood that the suspects acted in crowds during the tender processes carried out by the enforcement offices and tried to discourage those who wanted to enter the tender by means of pressure, threats and coercion.
It was determined that the suspects, who were determined to have agreed with the bidders in advance and adjusted the prices of the immovables offered for sale, according to themselves, thus gained unfair advantage and inflicted damage on the public.
After the technical and physical follow-up carried out by the police teams, 60 suspects involved in the crime were identified. The teams, which simultaneously raided the addresses determined in Istanbul-based Kırklareli, Samsun, Erzincan and Diyarbakır, detained 60 suspects. (AA)
