Prime Minister Narendra Modi on Friday met crisis-hit Israel President Isaac Herzog on the sidelines of the COP28 world climate action summit in the United Arab Emirates. The leaders of the world’s two most powerful countries shared their views on the ongoing Israel-Hamas war. PM Modi reiterated India’s support for the two-nation solution. PM Modi and Herzog exchanged views on the “conflict”.

External Affairs Ministry spokesperson Arindam Bagchi said that PM Narendra Modi met Israeli President Isaac Herzog on the sidelines of COP28 WCAS in Dubai. According to the Ministry of External Affairs, the Prime Minister reiterated the need for continued and safe delivery of humanitarian istance to the affected populations. He stressed India’s support for the two-state solution and an early and durable resolution of the Israel-Palestine issue through dialogue and diplomacy. On October 7, 1200 people were killed in Israel after a terrorist attack by Hamas. In retaliatory bombings and ground attacks, thousands of people have reportedly been killed in Gaza. Meanwhile, Herzog said he met with several global leaders and told them how Hamas “clearly” violates ceasefire agreements.
